Here’s our Aunti Ife Story for the Week:

Bimbo Wrote: Dear AuntiIfe, My friend wants to be my maid of honour but I really don’t want her to be because she’s usually irresponsible and slow to action. I’ve given her so many excuses on why she can’t be and she just won’t bulge, should I just tell her the real reason, won’t I hurt her feelings?

Aunti Ife’s reply: My dear, Its quite easy, keep her as your maid of honour but have a back up plan, though it might be stressful but considering what’s at stake (your friendship) it’s not too much. Get two or three other people from your train that can fill in for her in case she shows any sign of irresponsibility. That way you don’t hurt her feelings and everyone stays happy.

Hi People, check out the video from our first Lovestruck Photo Series: Partners In Crime

The first of the Lovestruck series is a model shoot titled ‘Partners In Crime’. The shoot took place at the Victoria Crown Plaza Hotel in Victoria Island.

This pair are quite simply dangerously in love, both on the wrong-side of the law, their fiery romance is centred on their passion for one thing- lawlessness! In these images, we see our Bonnie and Clyde inspired couple staking-out in a hotel room, having passionate moments, before they take off in their getaway car, on to the next city, to cause further mayhem.

This certainly appeals to couples who are aiming to do something a little bit edgy for their pre-wedding/e-session shoot.

He works as a nurse in England and doesn’t earn as much as I do. We really love each other but we both don’t want to relocate. l believe he should since l earn more than him but he’s not saying anything. He has never asked me to move over there and he’s not planning to move here (Nigeria) either. Everyone around me thinks I should move over there. Please advise me Aunti Ife, I’m really confused.

Move ke? Noooo… my dear don’t go anywhere. I don’t think it’s wise to abandon your career because of a man. He’s only a nurse please, tell him to come to Nigeria and get a ‘real’ job, since he’s just playing around in England anyway.

Is that right? Tell us what you think…

While you can view vendors’ portfolios online and check references from afar, it’s important that you’re comfortable with all your vendors. You’ll be leaving a lot in their hands, as you won’t be able to be nearly as hands-on, so it’s important you trust those hands are capable. That’s why we strongly suggest making at least one planning trip to meet with potential vendors.

If you must hire your vendors unseen, schedule a video chat so you can get a sense for a potential vendor’s demeanor and personality before you sign a contract. Your wedding planner can meet with potential vendors on your behalf and brief you on your options, as well. Another option: Bring professionals you trust from home to handle critical aspects such as the wedding photography, hair and makeup, and design (lighting, flowers), and even work with local vendors in a supervisory capacity to avoid any communication mishaps.
